Honda Civic Type R (FL5) Custom Tune Results via COBB Accessport

Honda Civic Type R (FL5) Custom Tune Results via COBB Accessport

Results are in and we couldn't be happier! For initial testing, our shop car was 100% stock, other than a PRL Motorsports drop in filter. We saw gains of nearly 60whp and tq with just our custom tuning alone. (The car made 321whp on the Cobb Stage 1 93 octane tune on our dyno)

Baseline: (292whp/315wtq)

93 Custom Tune Results via COBB Accessport: (348whp/379wtq)

One thing that we noted was that it was a struggle trying to keep the runs consistent with the stock intercooler. Manifold/ Charge air temps were jumping up into the 130-140 degree range while on the dyno. Which is why we installed a PRL Intercooler as our next mod. After that, we decided to tune our FL5 on an e30 blend next and we were even more excited about the results!

While not even pushing things to the limit, we have picked up 100whp so far with barely any modifications at all...Most of this is from tuning.

Modifications for the following results included:
- PRL drop in filter
- PRL intercooler
-COBB Tuning Accessport with our Custom tuning.
-E30 fuel

Total cost of mods so far is around $1500 or so, give or take.
CRAZY gains for very little modification!

E30 Custom Tune Results: (391whp/395wtq)

We know Cobb isn't being used very much so far for these cars, but after tuning literally thousands of cars on other platforms on Cobb, and tuning our own FL5 these past few weeks (Cobb support is only a few weeks old) I am very happy with it so far! Did I mention there are NO unlock/ jailbreak fees by using Cobb on your FL5?
